BDR Partners with PPATEC to Enhance HVAC Training Programs

Business Development Resources (BDR) has forged a strategic partnership with PPATEC, the technical education arm of the Pennsylvania Petroleum Association, to offer two specialized training courses aimed at improving profitability and technical skills within the HVAC service industry. Scheduled for early 2026, these courses will take place at PPATEC’s state-of-the-art training center in Grantville, Pennsylvania. This collaboration is particularly relevant for Blonder Tongue Laboratories, which operates in the technology sector that serves the broader utilities and service industries, as it aligns with their commitment to enhancing service delivery and operational excellence.

The first course, "Managing & Growing Service Profitably," is set to occur on February 25-26, 2026. Facilitated by BDR's senior service coach, Jennifer Shooshanian, this program targets business owners and service managers, equipping them with strategic insights drawn from successful HVAC companies. Participants will learn how to effectively manage service departments to boost profitability, which resonates with BDR's vision of supporting businesses in optimizing their operations. This course aims not only to enhance technical know-how but also to foster a culture of profitability and growth within HVAC service teams.

Following this, the "Top Gun Technician Excellence" course will be conducted on March 31-April 1, 2026, by BDR head coach Shaun Weiss. This session is tailored for HVAC technicians, focusing on essential customer communication skills and service delivery improvements. The goal is to help technicians reduce callbacks and increase referral rates, thereby enhancing the overall customer experience. Ted Harris, executive vice president of PPATEC, underscores the importance of comprehensive training that extends beyond mere technical skills, emphasizing profitability and customer interactions as critical components for success in the home service industry.

In addition to these courses, Matt MacArthur, BDR's senior vice president, expresses enthusiasm about the potential impact of this partnership on HVAC teams. The training facility boasts modern classrooms and practical lab environments, providing an ideal setting for both new and experienced technicians. Participants interested in these valuable training opportunities can find registration links on BDR's website, facilitating easy access to these programs designed to elevate the standards and practices within the HVAC sector.

This partnership not only enriches the educational offerings available to HVAC professionals but also positions BDR and PPATEC as leaders in fostering a skilled workforce capable of meeting the challenges of an evolving industry landscape.
