Baidu, headquartered in Beijing, is a Chinese language internet search provider employing 39,800 people, offering search and AI services through its Baidu Core and iQIYI segments. The company went public on August 5, 2005.
BIDU has been in the news recently: Baidu will let its 700 million monthly search-app users access OpenClaw AI starting Friday to schedule tasks, manage files and write code. Baidu's shares fell about 2% after a U.S. list that briefly labeled Alibaba as military-linked was posted then withdrawn, and Baidu is spending roughly CNY500 million on Lunar New Year promotions while peers report larger AI marketing outlays (Alibaba CNY3 billion, Tencent CNY1 billion, ByteDance prizes).
